Coast Salish Employment and Training Society (CSETS)

Jobs Coordinator Report

August 23, 2010

Pam Sam
Administrative Assistant

Please be advised I have taken on the roles and responsibilities of the Jobs Coordinator since June.  The summer to present has been very busy for applications. We got many applications for all regions to support our members for Fire Fighting gear. Global Vocational has been a great support in cost sharing to assist clients in obtaining gear.  Our provider for such gear has been Blue Coast Safety. Robert at Blue Coast was very helpful, although  many people had to wait for their gear due to a high volume of orders.  Other applications included support for tools and work clothing for members obtaining new employment in the field of construction, roofing, store clerks etc.

Please allow 1-2 weeks for applications tobe processed.
Don’t hesitate to call or email me in regards to criteria and guidelines for Walk-in or Disability funding. You can also visit our website(csets.com) for forms and guidelines.
Thank you to the communities who shared in partnering for costs. Cost sharing is what helps our people be successful. I look forward to more cost sharing and support taking place for our future clients.
August 9,10/2010 Glenn Boyda our Bladerunners Coordinator helped organize training for people to get their Learners License. Cost were shared with Hiiye’yu lelum and CSETS. The training included 13 participants and was delivered by Serge’s Real Life Driving.
