Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide direct services, such as informal counselling, one-to-one support, case planning and goal development to clients within the WILNEW Region.
- Assess barriers to employment/education and assist clients with job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing resumes and preparing for job interviews.
- Work closely with the Coast Salish Employment and Training Society Finance and ARMS Departments
- Follow the procedures for the protection of client personal information and their files
- Maintain accurate case files, case management plans, and follow-up
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and experience with First Nations employment and education issues.
- Knowledge and experience with educational institutes, organizations, and their training programs within the WILNEW Region
- Strong case management skills and knowledge of integrated case management processes.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet research skills, and database familiarity.
- Have effective and pleasant oral communication skills in dealing with the public, telephone calls and incoming visitors
- Know office routines and duties including operating office equipment, filing, answering phones, checking mail, ordering supplies, and recording in the daily log phone calls, messages, visitors, mail, deliveries, minute taking, etc.
- Have ability to adhere to principles of confidentiality in respect to sensitive and confidential issues that the organization deals with. Be willing to sign and adhere to the organization’s oath of confidentiality document.
- Able to work independently and within a team environment
Experience
- Several years’ experience in services related to employment and education
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle is required
- Provide Criminal Records Check
