Our Services

Coast Salish Employment and Training Society provides funding to communities and training programs with the ultimate goal of helping our community members find gainful employment,  advancing their self reliance.

CSETS funds communities and organizations in three zones within southern Vancouver Island.

Our Services Include:

  • CHILDCARE
    CSETS receives funding from Service Canada, which allows us to offer opportunities to associated daycare centres.

  • EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE
    We provide sponsorship for training that leads to employment, assistance with updating resumes and cover letters and access to fax, phone and photocopying.

  • LANGUAGE SERVICES

  • Please note: we do not pay for any driving fines or cover any costs for seasonal work, to receive funding for work gear you must be working more than 20 hours a week and 3 plus months.

Program and Employability

Together we work as a team to provide services to 19 First Nations and 3 Friendship Centres. Part of our services include the following:

  • Assessing and making recommendations on proposals presented for funding.

  • Ensuring the proposals satisfy all administrative and legal requirements, as set out by Service Canada.

  • Promoting, overseeing and monitoring all Nations & Friendship Centre’s projects and sub-contracts.

  • Conducting site visits on a quarterly basis according to the requirements of a monitoring plan to ensure contract compliance.
